A tree-planting project, dubbed Tree Revitalize, took root starting at 8 a.m. at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Newport, KY on October 11, 2014. After registration and breakfast, a group of about 80 volunteers branched out across the neighborhood to plant a total of 91 trees from Oak Street to Saratoga Street. Some local businesses sponsored the event by donating food and beverages, including Carabello Coffee, Neary Inspections and Bernhard’s bakery. Corona Tools provided some tools and wheelbarrows and Newport Pizza provided lunchtime grub for the hungry horticulturists.

On January 15, the lives of three-year-old Williamstown, KY resident Ty Taylor and his family were forever impacted when Ty, his mom and his older brother were hit head-on by a drunk driver. The accident left Ty with a spinal cord injury that rendered him paralyzed from the waist down. His family has struggled financially and emotionally to adapt their lives and their home to Ty’s needs. Neary Inspections was a key in coordinating efforts to modify the Taylors' home to accommodate Ty and his family. Installation of a new bathroom on the lower level, installation of a wireless video monitoring system, and other modifications were made. The Taylor family has since found a new normal and Ty has made leaps and bounds in his recovery. We'd like to thank them for the opportunity to meet such a wonderful family.
